System Diagnostics & Scanning

Before we touch a single part, we connect the vehicle or machine to multi-brand scan equipment to read active and pending fault codes, review live data streams, and isolate whether the problem sits in a sensor, a module, or the communication network (CAN, J1939). This avoids the most expensive mistake in diesel mechanics: swapping parts by trial and error.

A typical case: a truck with an intermittent check-engine light. Instead of assuming it's the most common sensor, we compare ECM data streams against manufacturer-expected values and confirm the root cause before quoting any part — often the problem is a corroded connector or a loose ground, not the sensor itself.
